Practicum Students (Graduate School)
There are two training tracks for graduate students at Dr. Goodness & Associates. Both are designed to provide an introduction to private practice assessment and treatment services and both tracks include non-forensic evaluations. However, students may opt to focus on either general clinical services or forensic services. Practicum students will gain experience through observation of forensic and clinical services, report-writing, and hands-on delivery of assessment and/or therapy services. The actual amount and type of hands-on opportunities will be commensurate with the student’s experience and demonstrated level of expertise. The student’s responsibilities will include psychological test administration and scoring, general clinical assessment interviews, and report-writing. Practicum experiences are available for both Master’s Program and Doctoral Program students who are in accredited applied programs and who have the required assessment training.
Postdoctoral Training
Postdoctoral training may be arranged with select applicants. Strong testing and demonstrated report writing skills are required.
Licensed Psychologists needed to conduct general psychological evaluations and provide therapy services.
Undergraduate Interns
Undergraduate interns are only accepted from the University of Texas at Dallas after they have taken Dr. Goodness’ Forensic Psychology class. Most intern activities will involve basic office tasks, literature searches, typing, filing, and note taking when and if allowed to observe forensic interviews. Hour requirements are 10+ hours per week.
